The Stifterverband is one of the largest private science sponsors in Germany.

In addition to its commitment to young academics, excellent universities and cutting-edge research, it is also its task to examine and evaluate the German research and innovation system. How much does industry invest in research and development in Germany? What impact does this have on the future viability of this country? These questions are at the heart of the R&D survey that the Stifterverband’s science statistics unit conducts annually on behalf of the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research.

Since 2014, the Stifterverband has recognized research-based companies for the special responsibility they assume for the state and society with the “Innovative through Research” seal.
