Ammoniumsulfaat
Ammoniumsulfaat wordt in de landbouw voornamelijk gebruikt als stikstofhoudende meststof. Daarnaast zijn er tal van andere nichetoepassingen, zoals als levensmiddelenadditief en voor de behandeling van drinkwater.
Meststoffen zijn van cruciaal belang voor de voedingsindustrie, omdat ze de productiviteit en kwaliteit van landbouwproducten helpen verhogen. Zonder het gebruik ervan zou het moeilijk zijn om voldoende voedsel te produceren voor de groeiende wereldbevolking.
Meststoffen zijn stoffen die planten voorzien van de voedingsstoffen die ze nodig hebben om te groeien en te gedijen. Deze voedingsstoffen omvatten stikstof, fosfor en kalium, evenals sporenelementen zoals ijzer, zink en koper.
Het gebruik van meststoffen
De wereld van voedsel voorzien en zorgen voor een duurzame aanvoer van meststoffen is een enorme uitdaging voor de overheid, het bedrijfsleven en de landbouw. Meststoffen zijn in de huidige samenleving echter onmisbaar geworden, omdat ze boeren in staat stellen meer voedsel te verbouwen op beperkte grond door de groei en ontwikkeling van planten te stimuleren.
In de voedingsindustrie worden meststoffen in verschillende vormen en concentraties gebruikt, afhankelijk van de behoeften van de planten en de vereisten van de specifieke teeltsituatie. Er zijn organische meststoffen zoals dierlijke mest en compost, enminerale meststoffen zoals stikstof, fosfaat en kalium.
